Imperial Treasure: Cantonese Craft in the Heart of St James’s
On Waterloo Place, Imperial Treasure Fine Chinese Cuisine brings a focus on Cantonese cooking to one of London’s most distinguished settings. Behind its imposing stone frontage, the restaurant combines traditional Chinese dishes with contemporary presentation.
Dim sum is a central attraction. Prepared by Hong Kong chefs, the selection offers an opportunity to explore the craft of these small, intricate dishes. Live seafood, available in different cooking styles, broadens the menu, while the signature Peking duck—requiring advance ordering—provides a centrepiece for a shared meal.
The interiors give the experience a distinctive character. English architectural heritage meets Chinese influences and French design, with dark wood, softly illuminated partitions and upholstered seating creating intimate areas within the larger dining space.
Guests can choose from à la carte dishes and set menus, with weekday lunch options offering another introduction to the kitchen. Three private rooms accommodate more personal gatherings, while a wine cellar adds to the restaurant’s appeal for celebrations and business dining.
For those seeking Chinese cuisine in a setting with a sense of occasion, Imperial Treasure offers a clear proposition: Cantonese traditions, considered design and a menu that invites diners to gather around the table.
