Manchester United are facing growing uncertainty over their managerial future, with Antonio Conte, Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann emerging as leading candidates to replace Michael Carrick.

Pressure intensified following United’s 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth, leaving the club 16th in the Premier League and prompting reported crisis talks among senior officials.

Former Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is believed to be favoured by technical director Jason Wilcox, while recruitment chief Christopher Vivell reportedly supports Nagelsmann. Conte, meanwhile, remains a potential option, although he has dismissed claims that advanced negotiations are underway.

Other names linked with the Old Trafford position include Unai Emery and Fabian Hürzeler, while former manager Erik ten Hag has also appeared among the bookmakers’ outsiders.

With United struggling for consistency, the club faces another major decision over its long-term direction. No replacement has been officially announced, but speculation surrounding Carrick’s future continues to intensify.
